A Revelstoke man is dead after he lost control of his car on Highway 23 North Tuesday morning.

The man was driving southbound about eight kilometres north of Revelstoke just before 7 a.m. when he failed to negotiated a curve and rolled his vehicle into a ditch, the RCMP stated in a news release.

The 47-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. Cpl. Mike Wasylenki of the RCMP said he was "not believed" to have been wearing a seatbelt.

The man was rushed to hospital by BC Ambulance but Cpl. Wasylenki did not know if he died in hospital or en route.

The identity of the man is not being released unless the man's family gives permission, Wasylenki said.
