A Canadian ridesharing company will be starting its engines on Penticton’s streets as early as this week.
Uride has announced it is expanding its services to the city starting on Friday, June 2, following recent launches in Kelowna and Vernon.
“With our expansion to Penticton, we’re not only providing more flexible transportation options but also creating new income opportunities for locals,” said Ravi Dhami, regional operations manager for Uride. “We’ve already made a mark in Kelowna and Vernon, and we’re eager to offer the same incredible services to Penticton.”
When using Uride to get around town, customers will be prompted to book their trips and select a vehicle type through the company’s app. All payments are cashless and made by using the app.
Along with Vernon and Kelowna, Uride has launched in Kamloops, Nanaimo and Prince George since its inception in 2017. It started as a way to prevent drunk driving but offers rides for anyone looking to get around the community in which they live.
The company is offering exclusive sign-up bonuses for new drivers in Penticton, including a $1,500 weekly guarantee for those who join Uride’s all-star program.
People can apply to be a Uride driver here.
In a launch announced Tuesday, May 30, Uride said it will also be bringing along its Good Deed’s program to the Peach City in support of local charities, volunteer initiatives and event sponsorships.
“As Uride makes its way into Penticton, it aims to deliver convenient, reliable transportation while allowing drivers to earn flexible income,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.
The Uride is already available for download in Penticton.
