Princeton RCMP are warning local residents and travellers to be careful when visiting Manning Park.
Cpl. Kyle Richmond, acting commander of the local detachment, said there has been a spike in vehicle related crimes, pertaining mostly to cars parked in the day-visit lots.
“It’s a big issue…and we are working with management at Manning Park,” Richmond said.
Over the Canada Day weekend there were more than a dozen calls to police reporting vandalism, vehicle break-ins and thefts. “And the calls keep coming,” he said.
Richmond called the incidents “crimes of opportunity” and have included theft from vehicles, vandalism and the theft of catalytic converters. He urged visitors to not leave valuables in their vehicles.
