City engineering crews say some residents in Columbia Park may be experiencing muddy water due to a water main break.

City engineering staff say some residents in Columbia Park may be experiencing muddy water due to a water main break.

City utilities foreman Doug Pendergast said a cap blew off a pipe located at the periphery of the system near Highway 23 North. This has caused the muddy water.

He said the water is chlorinated and is still safe.

Currently, crews are working on the problem. As of 12:45 p.m. on Friday, he estimated it would be a few hours before the situation is resolved.

The break is affecting customers located in the upper end of Columbia Park.
