Alex Cameron passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, at the age of 68 years, just four days shy of his 69th birthday. There will be a Celebration of Life held in the spring of 2022.
Alex was born in Revelstoke on November 6, 1952 and had been a life-long resident. He worked as a Conductor for C.P. Rail for 35 years. After retirement, Alex opened Cameron & Sons Meat Cutting and was well-known for his skills in dressing game and providing the meat to families in need. He was very active with the local Rod & Gun Club and instrumental with their annual banquet doing much of the cooking for the meal. Alex enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was very generous and was always helping others and providing meat for those who were without. The joy in Alex's life was his grandchildren and he adored each of them.
Alex was predeceased by his parents Mac and Jennie and his sister Peggy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doreen of Revelstoke; two sons: Jason (Jayme) of Revelstoke and Al (Kim) of Pritchard; five grandchildren: Daryin, Justus, Kayser, Austin and Kylie; siblings: Clarence Cameron of Vernon, Bob (Carol) Cameron of Revelstoke and Marlene (Don) Quail of Radium Hot Springs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
