Angelo Sessa passed away peacefully at his residence in Revelstoke with his family by his side on Tuesday,

November 10th, 2009 at the age of 76 years.


Prayers were recited from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday evening, November 17th, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning, November 18th with Father Ronnie Tagnines celebrant. Interment followed in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. Pallbearers were Angelo’s nephews: James Sessa, Adam Sessa, Tony Sessa, Mike Sessa, Mario Lupacchino and Gerry Lupacchino. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Variety – The Children’s Charity of B.C., 4300 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby, B.C. V6C 6C6, in memory of Angelo.


Angelo was born in Senerchia, Italy on January 22, 1933 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1951. Angelo held many jobs during his working career, starting out with CPR at the age of 19 years when he first arrived in Canada. He also worked for Stan Netzel Plumbing, was a boilermaker, a faller in the bush, a labourer at Downie Street Sawmills, a bartender, the manager of the Revelstoke Hotel for seven years, and finally he worked for B.C. Tel for 20 years until his retirement. Angelo enjoyed gardening, cooking, burning wood in his wood stove, an occasional trip to the casino and going on a Caribbean cruise. He especially enjoyed camping with his grandchildren and family and his animals. Family was the most important thing in Angelo’s life.


Angelo was predeceased by his parents Michele & Carolina Sessa, his first wife Doris, his brother Gerry and his beloved daughter Carol. He is survived by his wife Janice of Revelstoke; children: Shawn Thompson of Revelstoke, Kimberley (Bruce) Fikowski of Calgary, Brad (Carin) Thompson of Strathmore and Kelly Trostem of Vanderhoof; grandchildren: Jessie, Alex, Dallas, Blake, Tyler, Teri, Shawn Jr., Kyle, Brandon, Lucas, Winona, Richie and Rainbow; great grandchildren Willow and Whisper; brothers: Vince Sessa (Pat McKinnon) of Revelstoke, Rudy (Anna) Sessa of Revelstoke; sister Maria (Chris) Lupacchino of Surrey; sister-in-law Rosa Sessa of Kelowna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
