Arlene Joyce Storey

Arlene Joyce Storey passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Thursday, September 15th, 2011 at the age of 72 years.

A Graveside Service was held at Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke on Thursday afternoon, September 22nd, followed by a Tea in the United Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross or the charity of one’s choice, in memory of Arlene.

Arlene was born on August 11, 1939 in Revelstoke, B.C. and lived here until eight years ago when she moved to Vernon. Arlene taught ceramics in Revelstoke for many years and there are numerous locals who have their handiwork to remind them of her. Arlene enjoyed her time at the casino and always looked forward to a good game of Keno. She loved her gardens and flowers and they were always beautifully tended. Arlene was a very good cook and she enjoyed entertaining and being around people. She had a great sense of humour and had the ability to make people laugh, no matter what the situation was. She loved to help others and always made sure everyone was happy.

Arlene is survived by her spouse Vic Hootnick of Vernon; two daughters: Leanne (Dave) Schumacher of Revelstoke and Pat Gill of Kamloops; several grandchildren; her former spouse and good friend John Storey of Revelstoke as well as a host of good friends.
