Betty Joyce Sanders passed away at Mt. Cartier Court in Revelstoke on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Born in Vancouver, she came to Revelstoke as a baby and remained there until her passing.
Betty was predeceased by her half brothers Gordon and Bob Schindler and her long-time companion, George Kalanchy. She is survived by her half-brother David Schindler and several cousins. She will also be missed by members of her Kalanchy family (Fran, Greg and numerous Kalanchy children who knew her as Nana).
Betty was raised in Revelstoke by her grandparents. She finished high school and soon after married Kenneth George. In her twenties, Betty assumed responsibility for raising her three cousins (aged six and four years), Allan, Anne and Gary Ross.
In her late years, she was an avid gardener. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at the Kalanchy's cabin on Kalamalka Lake. Betty spent her final years at Mt. Cartier Court which provided her with many opportunities to show her social side. She was always happy and smiling.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Cartier Court and Dr. Rennie for the excellent care they provided to Betty.
At Betty's request there will be no service.
