In 1950, Betty moved to Revelstoke where she worked for Queen Victoria Hospital as a housekeeper. During this time she met her future husband, Doug. In 1957, Betty moved to Prince George to work and during the winter she and Doug got engaged. They then moved back to Revelstoke where Betty and Doug were married and raised their three girls.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Doug; daughters Carrie, Dawn and Heather (Daryl); three grandchildren: Tyler, Meighan (Ross) and Cole and one great granddaughter Chanel; brother David (Vi) Fowlie; sisters: Florence Devlin, Isabel (Lyle) Shiach, Alice Devlin and Kathy (Ron) Taylor. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and other valued family members and friends.

Betty’s greatest joy and love was her family. As our wife, mother and grandmother, she created special memories for each and every one of us. We will cherish our memories of her forever.

Betty’s family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Chris MacDonald, the nursing staff of Queen Victoria Hospital and the home-care workers who took such wonderful care of our wife, mother and grandmother. You all made her life so much more comfortable and for that we are very grateful. Thank you!
