The last surviving child (5th of 7) of Reginald & Selma (Turnross) Upper, Clarence Guy Upper, Passed away in Abbotsford February 13, 2008 at the age of 98 years.

Cal was a strong supporter of Revelstoke always and spent much time exploring and discovering historical rights and artifacts which he presented to the Revelstoke Museum and Archives on a regular basis.

Cal served overseas in the Canadian Army from 1939-1945 and preferred to call Revelstoke home with his work in mining and geology. He was a genuine and energetic rock hound making many of his finds into jewelry for members of his family. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Gerry in Abbotsford who took such good care and affection of him for years.

He leaves also many nieces and nephews, fourteen in all, many who live in Revelstoke Ken (Marian) Granstrom, Shirlee Ludwig, Heather Duchman, Colleen Nelson, Walter Nelson, Richard Hiren, cousins Olive Lazzorotto and Lola Gallicano and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Cal will be missed by all who knew him for his interesting storytelling and history of people and events of Revelstoke. Donations of condolences can be made to Revelstoke Museum and Archives.
