Cody Subotin

December 4th, 1980 - July 31st, 2010


Cody John Subotin passed away in Kelowna Hospital on July 31, 2010 after 15 years of living with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was 29 years old.


Cody was born in Grand Forks on December 4, 1980 to parents John and Yvonne Subotin, and sister Denise. Cody was raised in Grand Forks, graduating from GFSS and later attending Okanagan University College. On August 8, 2008, Cody married Kristin Demoskoff, the love of his life. They lived in Vernon BC where they were both employed by Black Press. Health problems brought Cody and Kristin back to Grand Forks in March 2009.Cody was very athletic and able to do everything he tried well. He played minor hockey, his main sport, and soccer. Cody loved to travel and he was able to go to London England with a high school soccer team. He has been to Mexico and has traveled to California and various other states and provinces by motorbike. Cody was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. He was a very special person who showed a strength and maturity beyond his years. He is so dearly loved and we can’t begin to imagine what life without him will be like.


Cody is survived by his beloved wife Kristin, his sister Denise and parents John and Yvonne, his mother-in-law Mavis Cann, father-in-law Cyril Demoskoff (Jacquie) and brothers-in-law Jason Demoskoff (Nicole) and Steven Demoskoff as well as many friends and a large extended family. The family would like to thank everyone who has called and expressed their condolences. Thank you also for the cards, flowers and gifts of food. We take comfort in your outpouring of love and support at our loss of Cody. A special thank you also to Dr. Coleshill for being there for Cody throughout the years.A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Gospel Chapel in Grand Forks on Saturday, August 14th at 2:30 pm. Cremation has taken place.
