Dale Thomas Schumacher
Dale passed away peacefully on August 22, 2017 with family, at the age of 82. A Funeral Service will be held at the Revelstoke United Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, August 29th, 2017 with Reverend David Cooke officiating. Pallbearers are: Dave Schumacher, Doug Schumacher, Tim Schumacher, Rob Beech, Jeff Beech and Keith Beech. Interment will follow in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
Dale was born on January 24th, 1935 in Claresholm, Alberta. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Schumacher. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma (nee Dixon), his son David (Leanne), grandchildren Gina, Bonnie and Sarah, great grandchild Carter, his son Doug, grandchildren Matthew and Karlee, and son Tim (Jacqui), grandchildren Megan and Jodi, and great grandchild Jackson.
Dale grew up in the Claresholm – Stavely area and moved to Calgary. He became an electrician and moved the family to Revelstoke when he worked on the Mica Creek and Revelstoke Dams. He loved to fish, hunt and camp. In his later years, you could find him walking through town, or having coffee with his friends, solving the world’s problems. He will be sadly missed.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. McLeod and the amazing staff at the Queen Victoria Hospital and Mount Cartier Court for the exceptional care Dale received.
