Dolly Dora Williams (nee Whieldon) passed away peacefully on May 6, 2020 with her children by her side. She was born in Perryville, Alberta on February 5, 1930 to Ethel and John Whieldon.
She married the love of her life Gerald Raymond Williams on January 25, 1951. They moved to Revelstoke in the early 1950's where she raised her children, became inspired as an artist and inspired her children to be inquisitive, travel and love the outdoors.
Dolly and Gerry then moved to Sicamous in 1977 where they built a beautiful house on the channel and lived for several years before moving on to Armstrong where they switched from waterfront to golf course building another house where they lived for their final years.
In addition to raising their two children, Dolly thoroughly enjoyed painting, gardening, travel and the great outdoors. She won awards for both her paintings and her lovely flower garden.
She was known as a loving devoted wife and mother, a generous and helpful friend to many and a volunteer for the Red Cross, the Bargain Bin in Armstrong and the IPE. She always sought opportunities to help others by donating her time and money to many charitable causes.She also accumulated wonderful life-long friends.
Dolly was active into her late 80's before moving into Pleasant Valley Manor where she received excellent and loving care from the staff there.
Surviving her are her two children Virginia Williams and Del Williams, her daughter in law Laurel Lay, her three grandchildren Ryan Williams, Nicholas Williams, and Jackson Williams, and her two sisters Grace Weathered and Linda Marley. Her loving Husband Gerald Williams predeceased her on January 11, 2019.
