April 18, 1935 - January 11, 2025

In loving memory ~

Ed, a resident of Courtenay, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025 comforted by his loving family. Ed was born April 18, 1935 in Golden, B.C. to John and Miriam Jaatteenmaki. Ed's Father worked as a Section Foreman for CP Rail and as a result Ed spent his youth living in the backcountry off grid along the Canadian Pacific Railway. Ed moved to Revelstoke to begin High school from which he graduated and then proceeded to post-secondary education in Vancouver.

Ed then decided to travel to Europe and see the sites and visit Family in Finland. It was on his way home from this adventure aboard the Empress of Canada that he met the love of his life Moira. Ed and Moira where married on Dec 19th, 1964 and spent 57 years together until Moira's passing in 2021.

Ed's true home was Revelstoke BC where he spent most of his life. During this time Ed worked for Canadian Pacific Railway, raised his family and spent many days hunting, fishing and skiing in the mountains of Kootenays.

Ed was a member of many clubs in Revelstoke, but it was the ATV, Rod and Gun, and the Wine Makers Guild that stood out the most. Ed loved to plan huge excursions for the ATV club and work on elaborate displays for the Rod & Gun banquets.

Ed was a loving husband and father and is survived by his son Davin, his wife Tanya their children Kaeli, Kyler and Carson and Ed's Great Grandson Andrew.

For those wishing to honour Ed's memory with a donation please make considerations to either of the following clubs; Revelstoke ATV, Rod & Gun or Model Railway.
