Edward Breck passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 at the age of 80 years. A Funeral Service was held at the Revelstoke United Church on Saturday afternoon, January 17th with Pastor Dave Olson officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. Pallbearers were Edward’s grandsons: Taylor Breck, Myles Breck, Daniel Munsell, Ryan Breck, Jordan Breck and Jarvis Breck. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International, P.O. Box 3619 Station Main, Guelph, Ontario N1H 9Z9, or to a charity of one’s choice, in memory of Edward.


Edward was born in Poland on January 26, 1928 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1952. His hobbies included fishing and woodworking, including making bird houses and furniture. Edward enjoyed gardening, especially his fruit trees, shrubs and was very proud of his blueberries, which he loved to pick. He was employed with C.P. Rail for over 37 years, was a great handyman and an excellent landlord to many tenants over 50 years.


Edward was predeceased by his parents William and Bertha Breck; sisters: Frieda Albrecht, Lucy Campbell and Hannah Breck and his brother Phillip Breck. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Revelstoke; four children: Dennis (Sherry) Breck of Prince George, Dale (Fay) Breck of Williams Lake, Jane (Don) Munsell of Quesnel and Garry (Janice) Breck of Williams Lake; 12 grandchildren: Tiffany, Brianna, Taylor, Amy, Stephanie, Amanda, Myles, Daniel, Tianna, Ryan, Jordan and Jarvis; two sisters: Elsie Klein of Regina and Erskina Haddad of Revelstoke; brother Harold Breck of Vancouver; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
