Elda (nee Bisenthal) Freer passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 28, 2010 in Kamloops, B.C. A Funeral Service was held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Revelstoke on Tuesday, February 9th with Pastor Richard Klein officiating. Interment followed in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2088, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Elda.


Elda was born on December 27, 1925 near Windthorst, Saskatchewan. She was one of 18 children. Elda married Stan Freer in September of 1944 and they moved to Revelstoke with their four children in 1957. Elda was involved in many organizations and clubs in the 52 years she lived in Revelstoke. Some of these organizations included the Ladies of the UTU, Women of the Moose, Senior’s Choir, The Nomads and the Pythian Sisters.


Elda was predeceased by her husband Stan, son Alvin and daughter Thelma. She is survived by her sons Edwin (Jeanne) and Patrick; son-in-law Dennis Aho; grandchildren Allan (Donna) Crowle, Shannon Crowle, Jason (Diana) Aho, Andrea (Armando) Blanchard and Deanna (Lester) Brace; great grandchildren Megan, Hally, Marc, James, Armando, Tyler, Ashlyn and Alexo, as well as numerous extended family members.


Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
