Elinor Therese Camozzi
March 1, 1933 – October 22, 2017
Elinor Therese Camozzi passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 in the presence of her family. Prayers will be recited from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, October 26th, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning, October 27th with Father Aaron de Dios and Father Cecil Nunez concelebrants.
Honorary pallbearers were Elinor’s grandchildren: Luke, Theresa, Adam, Talia, Melissa and great grandchildren: Trevor, Lucia, Olive, Arthur and Ellie Rose.
Interment of Elinor’s cremated remains followed in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.
Elinor was born March 1, 1933 in Calder, Saskatchewan and had been a resident of Revelstoke for 70 years. She worked for many years at School District 19 in the schools and shops department as a secretary. At the age of 71, Elinor was initiated as a First-Degree Reiki Healer and later achieved her 2nd Degree. She also enjoyed playing bridge, both live and on the internet and received several tournament awards.
Elinor’s family always enjoyed her soup and buns. With her guidance all kids and grandkids learned to prepare traditional foods like Vranica, Cabbage Rolls, and those she embraced from her husband’s Italian heritage including holiday favorites like Easter Bread and Scalilea.
Elinor had the grace of unmoveable faith, strength and determination. Family was first in Elinor’s life and she always showed unconditional love to all. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren and the great grandchildren gave her great joy in her later years.
True to the “DEVLIN” family name she had “Fierce Courage” in all of life’s battles. Elinor was predeceased by her parents Mary and Walter Devlin, step-father Russell McDowell, and siblings: Walter, Arthur and Bernice.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Barry, of Revelstoke; four children: Larry Camozzi (Norma), Tom Camozzi (Val Townsend), Lisa (Frank) Fik and Cynthia Kidd (Roger Gates), all of Revelstoke; grandchildren: Luke Kozek, Theresa Camozzi Adam (Cassandra) Kidd, Talia Camozzi , Melissa Kidd (Chris Szabunia) and; great grandchildren: Trevor, Lucia, Olive, Arthur, and Ellie Rose; sister Aileen Devlin of Revelstoke; sister-in-law Yvonne (Jim) Blake of Revelstoke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews & cousins.
