Ernestine "Ernie" Teresa Jacks passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on Friday, April 22nd, 2022, with her family by her side. There will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Revelstoke & District Humane Society, Box 340, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Ernie.
Ernie was born in Lourdes, Newfoundland on January 28, 1957, and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1988. She enjoyed fishing, being in the outdoors, walking and playing Keno. Ernie had a great love for her pets, and all animals. Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her family as well as sitting on her deck, enjoying the sunshine.
Ernie was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Skinner; siblings: Leo, Tena, Billy, Kevin, Isaac, and Minnie; sister-in-law Urinna Skinner; good friend Edith McGregor and her nephew Scott Vatcher, as well as her beloved dogs: Zoe, Cairo, Duke, and Bacon. She is survived by her husband Dan of Revelstoke; three children: George Gough of Revelstoke, Michelle (Jeremy) Hunter of Revelstoke and Christine Flynn of Chilliwack; her adored grandson Hank; siblings: George Skinner (Elaine Benoit) of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Henry (Linda) Skinner of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Dinah (John) Vatcher of Stephenville, Newfoundland and Sarah Gastin of Fort McMurray, Alberta; sisters-in-law: Madonna Skinner of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Jean Kennedy of Stephenville, Newfoundland; as well as her grand dog Savi and grand kitten Luna.
Ernie's family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Batchelor, Jen Schott, and all the amazing nursing staff at Queen Victoria Hospital for the excellent care given to her.
