Jul 8, 1947 - Nov 30, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of [Frances] Lorraine Holdener announce her passing on November 30th in Kamloops, B.C. As in life, Lorraine was surround by her loving family as she departed.

Lorraine was the first  of 5 daughters born to Harold and Maxine Grimes on July 8,1947 in Red Deer, Alberta.  The family moved to BC when Lorraine was 8, firstly to Vancouver then to Revelstoke when  she was 11.

It was there she learned to appreciate the great outdoors and it's beauty, and where she chose to live her life. She loved the look and feel of the outdoors and lovingly captured the beauty of Revelstoke on numerous canvases.  She later channeled her creativity into crafting, lovingly creating hand painted or homemade cards for all those dear to her.

Lorraine appreciated and gave back to her community through the Girl Guides of Canada. As a volunteer leader for over 30 years, Lorraine helped build the guiding program in town.  She was passionate about helping young women grow and develop and will be remembered by many whose lives she guided and inspired.

Lorraine was also an active member of her church and felt loved and cherished by her church family. Always generous and kind, she gladly set another seat at the table.  Whatever the occasion, Lorraine made sure everyone was welcome in her home.

Lorraine and Keith travelled to Hawaii, Barbados and (I'm sure they went a couple other places too). While she loved these trips, Lorraine's greatest joy was found in family.  So, in later years, they most often travelled to Tulameen to spend weekends and holidays exploring, visiting and relaxing with her daughters, their husbands, and other family and friends that gathered there.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Keith Holdener; her three children, Leanne (Shawn), Shari (Mike), Dave (Arlene); two grandchildren Liam and Kayla; her mother Maxine; her four sisters Darlene, Verlie (Bob) , Debbie (Charlie) and Brenda (Germain); and many other loving friends and extended family members.

The family would like to invite everyone in the community who was touched by Lorraine's life to join them in a Celebration of Life on Friday, Dec. 29th at 1:30 pm at the Revelstoke Alliance Church.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the kind nurses/doctors and staff of the Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke and Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops for their support in her final days.
