Frederick Earl (Fred) Stevenson


Mr. Frederick Earl (Fred) Stevenson passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Thursday, February 19th, 2009 at the age of 78 years. A Celebration of Life Service was held at the Revelstoke Senior’s Center on Sunday afternoon, February 22nd. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Box 2370, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Fred.

Fred was born on April 9, 1930 in Souris, Manitoba and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past two years. He was a lifelong railroader and worked for C.P. Rail as an engineer. Fred was a licensed mechanic and his hobby was fixing cars and tinkering with engines. He enjoyed snowmobiling in his younger years.

Fred is survived by four children: Herb (Linda) of Lethbridge, Gary (Lori) of Revelstoke, Robert of Port Coquitlam and Fred Jr. (Suzanne) of Coquitlam; six grandchildren: Grant (Angie) of Lethbridge, Mitchell of Winnipeg, Brent (Jennifer) of Revelstoke, Jake of Revelstoke, Troy of Revelstoke and Stephanie of Coquitlam; step grandchildren; three great grandchildren: Luca, Tucker and Grace; four sisters: Shirley (Guido) of Toronto, Doreen (Earl) of Toronto, June (Mervin) of Souris, Manitoba and Irene of Souris, Manitoba; one brother Roy (Eleanor) of Brandon, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
