Geoffrey Grant "Geoff" Horne passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at the age of 77 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Revelstoke Community Centre on Monday, July 8th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
Geoff was born in Victoria, B.C. on March 24, 1942 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1954. He was the proud business operator of Lease Creek Contracting for 18 years. Geoff was a Charter member of the Selkirks Hockey Club, a life member (50 years service) with the Royal Canadian Legion, as well as Past Zone Commander, a member of the Kinsmen Club and Charter member of the Logger's Sports Club, being named Pioneer Logger in 2010. He played and umpired baseball for many years, as well as refereeing hockey. Geoff enjoyed gardening, woodworking and needlepoint. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Geoff was predeceased by his parents, sister Pam and two brothers Robert and James. He is survived by his wife Rena of Revelstoke; three children: Kevin (Gail) Horne of Grand Forks, Shannon (Ian) Smith of Revelstoke and Cynthia Horne of Revelstoke; four grandchildren: Kayleigh (Taylor), Kolby, Courtney and Brynn; brothers: Peter Horne of England, Charles (Carolyn) Horne of Olds, Alberta, Bill (Barbara) Horne of Prince Rupert and Len Horne of Saturna Island; brothers-in-law: Don Dow of Oliver and Doug Hayner (Linda) of Kamloops, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
