Mrs. Helen Anne Grdic passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at the age of 69 years. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Saturday morning, May 2nd with Father Ronnie Tagnines celebrant. Cremation with interment of the cremated remains in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2088, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Helen.


Helen was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on April 3, 1940 and had been a life-long resident. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and doing crossword puzzles. Helen was an avid gardener when her health allowed. She especially enjoyed having coffee with her friends at the A & W. Family was very important to Helen and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.


Helen was predeceased by her husband Ivan, son Ed and granddaughter Kari. She is survived by five children: Julie (John Reimer) Robinson of Kelowna, Barb (Kevin) Kidder of Surrey, Bill Clark of Enderby, Terri (Bill) McNaughton of Radium Hot Springs and Mike (Louise) Grdic of Malakwa; daughter-in-law Cathy of Airdrie; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother John Macko of Revelstoke; sister Mary Wolinski of Nelson; nephews: Jim Wolinski of Nelson, John Wolinski of Sylvan Lake, Alberta, Bob Wolinski of Coquitlam and Chris Macko of Edmonton; niece Diane Macko of Penticton as well as numerous friends.


Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
