Mr. Howard McKay died suddenly at his residence in Revelstoke on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at the age of 66 years. A Funeral Service will be held at the Revelstoke United Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1st, 2009. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Humane Society, Box 340, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in

memory of Howie.


Howie was born in Salmon Arm, B.C. on August 4, 1942 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past 63 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and restoring old cars. Howie was an avid fisherman and naturalist. He had a great love and compassion for all animals. He was a jack of all trades and a great storyteller. Howie was hard working, a good provider and very generous and always assisting others. He enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humour.


Howie was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 2007. He is survived by two children: Vicky McKay (Barry Kroeker) of Kelowna and Brad (Jenni) McKay of Revelstoke; four grandchildren: Emily, Branden, Grayson and Mackenzie; three brothers: Ron (Diane) McKay of Revelstoke, Alfie McKay of Kamloops and Garry (Janet) McKay of Golden; numerous nieces and nephews; his dog Shadow and his cat Babe and his grand animals Riley, Mojo and Abby.


Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
