Mrs. Inez Broughton passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 at the age of 73 years. There will be no formal funeral service by Inez’ own request. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2088, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Inez.
Inez was born in Bonnyville, Alberta on May 24, 1936 and was a resident of Revelstoke from 1979 to 1985 and returned in 2007 after living in New Denver & Puerto Rico. She loved playing cards with her friends and evenings would find her knitting and crocheting. When health allowed Inez enjoyed curling and golfing. Fishing was also a special past-time, she loved to spend time with Reg out on Slocan Lake. Inez especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her two dogs Sparky and Dodger. She loved people and being with them brought her great joy.
Inez was predeceased by her parents, siblings: Bill, Mary, Leslie, Nora and Eldred and her daughter Kelly Ann Broughton. She is survived by her husband Reg of Revelstoke; five children: Linda (Ernie) Schekk of Mistatim, Saskatchewan, Nels (Sue) From of Burnaby, Earl (Linda) From of Airdrie, Alberta, Frank Broughton of Carlisle, Saskatchewan and Jim (Theresa) Broughton of Kamloops; nine grandchildren; three brothers: Len Lillico and Archie Lillico, both of Drayton Valley, Alberta and Ivan (Marnie) Lillico of Edgewood, B.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
Cremation arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
