Irma Fern Elder passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Friday, August 8, 2015 at the age of 64 years. There will be no formal funeral service by Irma’s own request. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, #202-1835 Gordon Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 3H5, in memory of Irma.


Irma was born in Climax, Saskatchewan on May 28, 1951 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1969. She will be remembered for her smiling face and kinds words. Many will remember Irma working at the Classic Jewelry Store and the Revelstoke Railway Museum. Irma was a very social person and loved spending time with all of her friends.


Irma was predeceased by her husband, Doug in 2001 and is survived by three children: Jeff (Christina) Elder of High River, Alberta, Shannon Elder (Mike McAllister) of Calgary, Alberta and Kelli Elder (Brock Boland) of High River, Alberta; seven grandchildren: McKenna, Halley, Hannah, Ty, Nolan, Ava and Marissa; two brothers: Glen Johnson of Claresholm, Alberta and Howie Johnson of Climax, Saskatchewan; one sister, Myrna (Bob) McDonald of Claresholm, Alberta; mother-in-law Emily Elder of Revelstoke as well as numerous nieces & nephews.


Irma’s family would like to thank Dr. Jarmula and the nursing staff at Queen Victoria Hospital for all of their care and support.
