In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather at the age of 87 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He first came to Revelstoke in 1955 fresh out of training depot and this was his first posting with the RCMP moving here from Fort William Ontario. Here, he met the love of his life, Yvonne (Camozzi), and they married in 1958. After numerous postings in BC with the RCMP they returned to Revelstoke in 1966 choosing to raise their family here. After various careers with the CPR, Dept of Highways, and the BC Assessment Authority, he retired in Revelstoke and was proud to live here for the duration of his life.
His first priority in life was his family but he also loved the outdoors spending many hours fishing, hunting, mushroom or berry picking. If not there, you would find him working in his yard or weeding his garden. Also, an avid hockey fan, Saturday night would find him in front of his TV watching hockey, especially if his Canucks were playing. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years Yvonne in 2020, he is survived by his son Jim (Sandy) Blake, his grandson James (Molly) Blake, his grandson Brady Blake all of Revelstoke, his daughter Leslie (Les) Husband, his granddaughter Michelle (Noah) Giene, and his great granddaughters Brooklynn and Chloe, his grandson Brent (Kara) Husband, his great granddaughter Scottlyn, all of Prince George. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Barry Camozzi of Kelowna, and numerous nieces and nephews. May the boat ramp be clear, the lake always calm, and the sun always shine until we meet again.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hunt and Dr. Mostert and the Nursing staff at QVH for the excellent care provided and their thoughtfulness and compassion. A family service to be held at a later date.
Messages of sympathy may be sent to Jim’s family by viewing his obituary at: www.brandonbowersfuneralhome.com.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home.
