Jared David Szabo passed away August 2, 2017 near his beloved cabin in Beaton, BC at the age of 29 years. Jared was born in Vancouver, BC on February 1, 1988 and called Revelstoke home for the last 7 years.

Jared completed his Electrical Apprenticeship with BC Hydro and had recently taken on the role as Generation Plant Operator at the Mica and Revelstoke Dam facilities. His work took him all over British Columbia including Surrey, Dashwood, Hudson’s Hope and Revelstoke where he met so many great friends and co-workers. He enjoyed the loyal company of his beloved dog Hunter, catching up with friends in his garage, bacon, helping friends with projects (preferably in remote locations), rolling coal, his snowmobile, working on his cabin, and a cold Lucky Lager. Jared will forever be remembered for his big heart, contagious laughter, hard work and good ethics, easy going attitude and love for life and for his family.

Jared was predeceased by his Grandmother, Dorothy Szabo of White Rock, BC. He is survived by his wife Pascalina Gaillardetz of Revelstoke; parents David and Lori Szabo of Tsawwassen; sister Virginia Szabo of Langley; his close family, and his dog Hattie.

A Celebration of Jared’s Life will be held at the Catholic Church Hall, 510 Mackenzie Avenue, in Revelstoke, BC on September 23, 2017 at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Revelstoke Search and Rescue at the Revelstoke Credit Union or via mail at PO Box 2478, Revelstoke, BC, V0E 2S0.
