It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Jennifer Newsome. Jenn passed away at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Tuesday November 9th, 2021, at the age of 52 years.
Jenn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. On August 12, 1969, Jenn's family moved to Calgary, where Jenn completed her schooling. Her love of skiing & snowboarding took her to Lake Louise in 1992 where she met her one & only, Shaun Newsome. Jenn & Shaun ventured out in their orange Volkswagen Van in May of 1997 and put down roots in Revelstoke in December of 1998. Jenn was employed as a Snowboard Instructor at Powder Springs Resort until the birth of their son, Noah. After which, life moved to the hockey arena.
Jenn was predeceased by her brother Michael McClay. Jenn is survived by her loving husband Shaun & their son Noah, her mom & step dad Carol & John LaPointe, her dad and step mom Tom McClay & Donna Rudd, sister Lindsay Lundstrom (Jon) and Bonus sisters Lisa Carleton (Stephen), Vanessa Lapointe (David), Christy Converse (David), Laurel Campbell (Spencer), Jaclyn Scrimshaw (Rob), her brother Michaels wife Lindsey McClay and children Charlie and Grier, Shauna & Jim Newsome, Jodi (Newsome) & Brad and children Van & Burton Willey, Scott (Newsome) & Kerry and children Sebastian & Kaeson Newsome.
