BAYNES, John Willfred Harry

June 30, 1935 – January 1, 2009

John was born in Revelstoke, BC to Thomas and Viva Baynes. He is survived by his loving wife, Evalyne and his siblings; Everett (Rosalyne), Ernie (Cathy), Beth and Lil, children; Herby (Cathy), Frank, Rosalyne (Doug), Glenn (Rita), Lonni, Breck and Loreen, 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings Grace and Hulda.

John treasured his children and grandchildren. He had a way of making every child feel special. Everyone who knew him well, was touched by his kindness. His gentleness was appreciated through the years by many animals too.

John was known as a very industrious, working in the fields of logging, trucking, sawmills and construction. Later in life, he surprised us all and became a successful baker. He taught his kids the value of hard work and continued to set a fine example his entire life.

In 2000, John was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. His faith kept him strong through these last years. He had a firm belief in the resurrection. We look forward to seeing him again on a Paradise earth.

Even though his passing was sudden,

he was surrounded by family.

“the hour is coming in which all those in the

Memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”

John 5: 28,29

A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Sicamous, BC with Douglas Plowman officiating. A memorial tea will
