John Howard Conner

November 21, 1939 – August 6, 2021
John Howard Conner passed away peacefully at Mt. Cartier Court on Friday August 6th, 2021 at the age of 81 years.
John was born in Golden B.C. on November 21, 1939. John and his parents moved to Revelstoke in 1960. They lived on the old loop road and he moved to the Southside area after being relocated by B.C. Hydro with the forming of the Arrow Lakes Reservoir.
John started working for Parks Canada in the early 1960’s and worked in numerous roles until his retirement. He was known for his meticulous record keeping and accounting. John was a lifelong Legion member including having served as President and on the Executive.
He enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles – having a puzzle on the go all the time. He was an ardent reader, storyteller and writer of poems. He traveled back and forth between Revelstoke and Trail visiting his sisters and their families.
John was previously deceased by his father Thomas, mother Margaret, sister Mary and sister Connie. He is survived by 8 nephews, 3 nieces and several grand nephews and grandnieces from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
A much appreciated thank you to Dr. Cam Macleod, Dr. Kate McCarroll as well as nurses, long term care aids and staff at Mt. Cartier Court. A special thank you to friends and managers at Mt. Begbie Manor, where he was a well-known character. He enjoyed his time there and appreciated the Home Support staff that visited him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Revelstoke Legion on September the 18th at 1 pm with all family and friends welcome.
