May 12, 1950 - December 7, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Butch on December 7, 2021 in Trail BC at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with his family by his side.
Butch was born in Kirkland Lake Ontario on May 12th, 1950. In the year of 1966 most of his family moved to Revelstoke BC. He started working in the Logging industry at the age of 16 as a Faller. After working many years in the bush, Butch bought a business called R 'n' R sealcoating with his younger brother Darrell. Butch was working at Downie Street sawmill when he retired and moved to Castlegar BC with his wife Sherry.
In his younger years Butch enjoyed camping, fishing and baseball with his family and friends. He was well known for Eye Spy. He could get the whole room guessing even though everybody would say NO! They all started guessing.
Butch is predeceased by his parents Rodney and Evelyn, sister Jean and brother Darrell.
Butch is survived by his wife of 49 years Sherry, his daughters Paulette (Kelly), Shelley, grandsons Darcy (Kristin), Justin, Owen, great grandsons Garrett and Aeron, sisters Joyce (Roger), Marion, brothers Rick (Roxanne), David (Sally), Monty (Sam), Rob and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, and the wonderful nurse who helped us in the last hours of Butch's life, as well as Alternative Funeral and Cremation services.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's register at www.myalternatives.ca
As an expression of sympathy, your donation made in Roy's 'Butch's' memory to a charity for Rheumatoid Arthritis www.arthritisresearch.ca would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
