In loving memory ~

Larry was born in Jasper AB October 21, 1939, passing away at the age of 85. Larry lead a very full life. Being introduced to horses at a very young age after living in Alberta at his uncles and later to a horse race family who adopted him as their own son.

When Larry made his way to Revelstoke in his teens to his father's, he mastered skiing and jumping which would give him an amazing career for years. Larry was married in 1957 to Rosalyne Bafaro and had two children Douglas and Shelley.

Skiing became his passion which took him to amazing places all over the world. He coached the National Ski Team for Canada, held ski camps in the summer at Kokanee Glacier and later he was not only coaching racers he coached coaches. Larry was inducted into Canada's Hall Of Fame for his skiing skills and accomplishments. The love for horses never left him and in 1967 he purchased property on Highway 23 South where Larry's dreams came true training horses along with riders. His passion grew. Larry was working on the Galena Bay ferry as a deckhand, later becoming the captain of the boat.

Together Larry and Rosalyne in 1986 started the first bed-and-breakfast in Revelstoke along with horse trail rides and many other horse events on the Nelles Ranch. After 40 years of marriage, Larry decided to move to the US, making his home in Arizona, where he met and married Louise and continued to do his horse training and seminars. He excelled in this field and made this his lifelong passion, riding horses, and training riders. It took him all over Canada and the US, where his horsemanship, skills and knowledge helped so many people. He made instructional videos and was on a TV series as well. Larry has made many friends, people who have adopted him into their family, adored and cherished him for all his knowledge that he was willing to share. One of the last real cowboys.

Larry will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
