Mr. Leonard George Sulz passed away at his home in Malakwa on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held from the Malakwa School on Wednesday, December 11th at 2 pm.
Len was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on October 11, 1932 to George and Martha Sulz. He was raised on the family farm in both Shuler and Lousana, Alberta. When the family moved to Medicine Hat, Len drove truck part time and then found work at Dominion Glass in Redcliff. His work in the glass industry led him to British Columbia in 1969 and onto Consumers Glass in Lavington. He and his family took up residence in nearby Vernon. Len and Joleyne resided in Armstrong, B.C. and Trochu, Alberta before settling in Malakwa 15 years ago. Len's hobbies included farming, gardening, bowling, baseball, woodworking, camping, hunting and fishing as well as playing his guitar. He also served as the Revelstoke Farmer's Market Manager for a term.
Len was predeceased by parents George & Martha Sulz, brother Bill, infant sister Olinda, brother-in-law, Lorne Bohnet; parents-in-law Bertha and Steve Platzer; sister-in-law Theresa Platzer and brother-in-law Roy Platzer. He is survived by his wife Joleyne of Malakwa; three children: Gary (Chrissie) of Revelstoke, Cheryl (Larry) Wehren of Targetville, N.B. & Stephen
(Ji-Seon) of Delta; six grandchildren: Scott (Aimée) Sulz of South Surrey, Nathan (Amber) Sulz of Vernon, Jared Sulz of Courtenay, Christopher (Christina) Sulz of Moncton, N.B., Claire Platzer of Delta & Aiden Platzer of Delta; seven great grandchildren: Elijah, Annalise, Samuel, Jacob, Kylie, Bryden, Kaleb and Kiera; three sisters: Doreen Bohnet of Calgary, Edna
(Barry) Deering of Medicine Hat & Vivian (Ron) Grover of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
