Lola Jaynn Boettger Hagen

Lola Jaynn Boettger Hagen was born on June 13, 1955 in Nelson B.C. to Clarence and Eleanor Boettger and went to be with her Lord Jesus on January 4, 2013 after a long and brave battle with cancer.

In 1971 Lola moved from Revelstoke B.C., to be with her mother, sister Donalda, and brother Dale in Sedro-Woolley. For a number of years Lola worked in the food service industry and later for the Washington State Ferry System. In 1982 Lola wed Gene Hagen and they had two sons, Adam Louis Hagen and Andrew Gene Hagen. Lola was a loving mother to her sons and adoring grandmother to her grandsons, Jaron and Donovan Coulter. Lola's face would light up whenever she was around her grandsons and she gave them unconditional love that only a grandmother can offer.

Lola Jaynn was a very caring and loving person to all her family members and friends. She was an avid gardener tending her vegetable garden and beautiful yard filled with flowers, roses and fruit trees. She was skilled in carpentry; building bird houses and flower boxes as well as a sun deck on her home in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed sitting in her favorite chair in the evenings listening to the sound of birds and watching the sunsets. Her favourite times of the year were spring and summertime, enjoying hiking, walks on the beach, waterfalls, and road trips. In the wintertime, Lola liked ice skating, hockey, knitting, sewing and crocheting blankets.

Lola was preceded in death by her mother Eleanor Latting Meredith and younger sister Janet Patrick Turk. She is survived by her husband Gene Hagen, sons Adam and Andrew, father Clarence Boettger and wife Ruth of Revelstoke B.C., brother Dale Boettger of Trail B.C., sisters Peggy Mottishaw and Tracee Ann Boettger of Langley B.C., and Donalda and John Wiggins of Mount Vernon, Washington. Lola was also blessed with a number of nephews and nieces as well as a large extended family with several step-brothers and sisters.

A memorial will be held at 16125 Mountain View Road, Mount Vernon, Washington on May 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
