Lorne Kenneth McQuarrie


It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Kenneth McQuarrie on Febuary 18, 2010 at Queen Victoria Hospital Revelstoke, B.C. at the age of 70 years. A funeral service was held Saturday February 27, 2010 from the United Church with Reverend Ken Jones officiating. Pallbearers were: Hans Michel, Ross Needham, Robert Dodman, Rudy Stoller, Phil Duffy, Bruce Watt.


Lorne was born in Kelwood, Manitoba. October 19, 1939. He was a resident of Revelstoke since 1966.


Lorne worked in the logging industry as a faller and cat operator for many years. Lorne was happiest spending time at his barn working around his horses whether it be horseback riding, driving his team of Percherons or driving his tractor. Lorne was an avid hunter and more recently, avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and treasured sharing his passions with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorne will be remembered for his helping hand and genuine spirit.


Lorne was predeceased by his brother Glen, father Alec, mother Mary, wife June and daughter Kimberley. Lorne is Survived by his brothers; Ray (Yvonne) McQuarrie of Kelwood, Manitoba, Mervin (Mona) McQuarrie of Cranbrook, B.C., sister Lois (Harold) Lucash of Lumby, B.C., sons; Ken McQuarrie, Scott (Sheralee ) McQuarrie, Rob (Mandy,) McQuarrie and Daughter Lori (Ross,) Dodman of Revelstoke B.C. Lorne’s memory will live on through his grandchildren; Jamie, Pam, B.J, Lacie, Kyle, Kayla, Josie and Tucker as well as his ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
