Mabel Jeanette Carten passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at the age of 99 years. There will be no formal funeral service by Mabel's own request. Her cremated remains will be interred with her beloved husband Gerald at a later date.
Mabel was born in Granum, Alberta on August 24, 1922 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1947. She lived a quiet life and her family was her focus.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Gerald, daughter Julie Hluchaniuk, son-in-law Lorne Hluchaniuk, her twin sister Hazel Huddle and sister Eleanor Ellefson.
She is survived by three children: Gary (Patti) Carten of Saskatchewan, Janet (Tony) Mackay of Burnaby and Bruce Carten of Revelstoke; grandson Matthew Mackay of Burnaby; brother-in- law Jack Carten of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
