Marjorie May

May, F. Marjorie (nee Reedman), born in Kamloops, BC on February 2, 1911, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2009 at Piccadilly Care Centre, Salmon Arm. She was 98 years old.


Predeceased by her husband, Fred May and step-son, Doug May, Marjorie is survived by her loving sister, Kathleen Goss of Salmon Arm and many nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.


Marjorie spent her childhood years at Blind Bay. Later, she enlisted in the Army and served in the Canadian Dental Corp. at Victoria, BC. She was proud to be a Veteran. After the Army years, she worked at the Vancouver General Outpatient Dental Clinic as a Dental Assistant until her retirement. In this phase of her life, she married Fred May and moved from Vancouver to Revelstoke. This was where she enjoyed working in her garden. Marjorie had a nurturing personality whether it was for family and friends or plants and flowers. Marjorie had been a resident of Salmon Arm since 1992.


A memorial gathering was held at Bowers Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
