We are sad to announce the passing of Martha Pearl Peterson on July 11th, 2010 in Quesnel, B.C. at the age of 67 years.


Martha grew up in the Alexandria area. In 1962 she married Charles Peterson and moved to 100 Mile where she would raise her family and live for the next 22 years. She then moved to Lytton and Salmon Arm before settling in Revelstoke in 1990. She moved to Quesnel in 2004. Martha was an avid gardener, had a passion for St. Bernards and loved her family. She was a past president of the Revelstoke Legion and also volunteered her time at the Salvation Army while living in Quesnel.


She is survived by her mother, Rose Iverson of Quesnel, one sister, Francis (Wayne) Philpott of Fort St. John, one daughter, Betty (Jerry) Welch of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and one son, Raymond (Linda) Peterson of Revelstoke. Also by her grandchildren, Jolene and Kevin Welch and Ashley and Zack Peterson and her special friend, Phil Elliot of Revelstoke. Also survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie (Maurice) Bruneau and brother-in-law Chris (Sandra) Peterson.


Martha was predeceased by her husband Charles Peterson in 1998.


The Revelstoke Legion will be hosting a Memorial Service for Martha on August 6 at 1:00pm.
