It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Tomiko Obara, in Kelowna B.C. on March 21, 2020, at the age of 89 years.
A private family service was held in Kelowna, B.C on March 30, 2020.
Mary was born December 25, 1930 in Webster Corner (Maple Ridge) B.C. Mary was predeceased by her husband George, her parents, her brothers Ken and Seigo, sister in law Takako (Ken), and three brothers in law, John Dubitz (Karol), Allan Hattori (Minnie), and Gino Ogino(Naomi).
Mary is survived by her son's Grant (Kathy) in Lethbridge, Patrick in Vancouver, and Roy (Rena) in Kelowna, grandchildren Jodi (Mark) and Jeff (Chantal) and her eight beloved great grandchildren, in Lethbridge, AB., four sisters Naomi Ogino, Karol Dubitz, Minnie Hattori, and Vivian Giddens (Ward), and brother, Tom Sakamoto (Carol).
Mary's interment in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke, B.C., and memorial service will be held at a future date.
