In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mathew Ronald "Ronnie" Dedoosenco, who passed away with his family by his side on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of 83.

Ronnie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Layton (Tasha), of Revelstoke, B.C.; his grandchildren, Jordan and Petra (Jon); and his beloved great-grandchild, Marly. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Bruce (Patty) Kaduhr of Surrey, B.C. He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria; his daughter, Cheri; his sister, Helen; his brother, Albert; and his parents, Dimitry and Rose.

Born in Galena Bay, B.C. on March 6, 1941, Ronnie spent his formative years in the communities of Galena Bay, Arrowhead, and Twelve Mile before settling in Revelstoke. At just 16 years old, Ronnie embarked on an adventurous career of driving truck, a passion that took him down countless roads in the area. His love for the outdoors was a defining feature of his life, and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper. He enjoyed prospecting and spent countless hours foraging for mushrooms and huckleberries with family and friends, always managing to be first back to the truck with a full bucket.

Ronnie's adventurous spirit extended far beyond the borders of Revelstoke. He delighted in travel and took every opportunity to explore new destinations, backpacking to exotic locations around the world. In his later years, he discovered paragliding and took a couple flights from Mount McKenzie. Always up for an adventure, Ronnie would never turn down a chance to take a ride with friends or family.

Ronnie's warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He made friends effortlessly and shared his time and knowledge freely. His adventurous, open heart touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Revelstoke United Church (314 Mackenzie Ave).
