June 6, 1937 - January 14, 2025

In loving memory ~

On January 14, 2025, Phil DeCicco, beloved husband, papa and dad passed away peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 87. Phil's glowing smile, and his joy for life will live forever in the hearts of his family and dear friends.

Phil was born on June 6,1937 in Spezzano Piccolo, Italy to Gerardo DeCicco and Adelina Valente, and is survived by his older sister, Elvira and younger brother, Giuseppe. He is predeceased by his sister Rita. In 1961, Phil emigrated to Canada, eventually settling in Revelstoke where he would call home for the rest of his life. Phil's greatest joy was his family, with his amazing wife Marisa being at his side for nearly 60 years. In Revelstoke, Phil and Marisa raised their sons Gerry and Rob, where Phil was never shy to tell someone how proud he was of his boys. He dearly loved his daughters-in- law Naomi (Rob), Erin (Gerry), his step-granddaughter Emma, and Rosie the dog. Phil's greatest pride and joy was his granddaughter Rachel, whom he absolutely adored. Phil is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and dear friends. Our many cherished family gatherings took Phil's smile to the next level.

As a young man, Phil learned the trade of automotive repair at the Lancia and Alfa Romeo factories in Italy. Once arriving in Revelstoke, Phil worked for local body shops until starting his first shop with "compare" Luigi Pagliaro aptly named, Phil and Louis Autobody in the early 1960s. Over the years, Phil's entrepreneurial spirit led him to expanding into other successful enterprises including a towing company, glass shop, real estate, and another body shop in Kamloops in the 1980s.

Phil's business accomplishments are rivaled only by his commitment to service. A 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a Rotarian, Phil served his church and community with willingness and pride, especially at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Revelstoke where he assisted with many fundraising initiatives over the years.

One of Phil's many passions was riding his bicycle throughout Revelstoke with his colourful cycling jerseys.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the medical team at Queen Victoria Hospital and the ICU staff at Royal Inland Hospital for the care Phil was given in his final days. The family would also like to recognize Dan Hutchison and nephew Mike Lamacchia and his wife Liana for being at the family's side at the most difficult time. The outpouring of love from friends and family from all over Canada and Italy has been overwhelming and is a testament to the legacy and impact that Phil had on us all.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in South Surrey on Thursday February 20 at 11am. A celebration of Phil's life will also take place in Revelstoke later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to a children's charity of your choice.
