In loving memory ~
Phillip Ralph Carey, age 70, of Longview, AB, formerly of Revelstoke, passed away on Sept 7, 2022 after a very brief stay at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB.
A memorial will be held Saturday, October 8th, at 1:30 at the Revelstoke Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Jordan Eadie officiating. All of Phil's friends are invited to attend this service.
Phil was born in Prince Rupert on Mar 5, 1952 to Randi & Conrad Carey. That same year he joined the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, and his career took him to Stewart, BC, Port Hardy, Ucluelet and Revelstoke, arriving here in September of 1990. He retired from the local LDB in 2009, a month shy of 35 years of service. He was actively involved in the Revelstoke Fellowship Baptist Church for many years, on the worship teams, the men's groups and on the board, until he moved with his wife to Longview, AB in 2021.
Phillip is preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Maitland..
Phillip is survived by Esther, his wife of 48 years; by his children Janine, & Darren (Lida) of Revelstoke, Travis (Annie), Samantha, Victoria & Brett, all of Lethbridge; by his sister-in law Mary Carey, sister-in-law Noreen Cuthbert, sister-in-law Faye Baxter, brother-in-law Phil (Brigit) Simenson; grandchildren Gabriel (Madeline), Sarah, Nathaniel and Katherine; as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, extended family, church family and good friends.
Phil's passions included gathering wood for his fireplace, fishing, building furniture for his family, the constant stream of home repair and upgrading projects, singing, ice cream, his daily Bible readings & time spent with loved ones. His big grin and big hugs will be greatly missed by his entire family.
