Vervynck, Raymond (Ray) Rene

It is with great sorrow we say goodbye to our dear husband and father, Raymond Vervynck. Ray passed away surrounded by loving family on October 5, 2009, at the age of 79 years.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Deanna, their 4 children, Ed Vervynck (Judy) of Salmon Arm, Judy Deets of Langley, Terri Vervynck of Kelowna, Raylene van den Adel (Ron) of Kelowna and a grandson, Julian Deets of Surrey.

Raymond was born in Edmonton AB moving at an early age to Revelstoke, BC where he married, raised his family while working in the forest industry as a logger and saw-miller.

During his retirement he became a talented artisan creating many beautiful works in wood and iron. As an avid gardener, Ray grew many specialty flowers and plants which were the envy of all. He enjoyed hockey, remaining a true Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and Kelowna Rockets season ticket holder.

Age was just a number to Ray and he will be remembered for his zest for life, striking silver hair, rosy complexion and warm smile.

All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Ray’s life on Saturday, October 24th 2009 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, located at 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Should family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada, 7100 Woodbine Avenue, Suite 311, Markham, ON or www.jrdf.ca.
