Ronald Marcell (Ron) Taylor passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Monday, January 16th, 2017 at the age of 72 years. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Revelstoke Community Center on Sunday, January 29th at 1 p.m. with Mr. Gary Sulz officiating. Flowers are acceptable, or memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 360 – 1385 8th Avenue West, Vancouver, B.C. V6H 3V9, in memory of Ron.


Ron was born in Edmonton, Alberta on October 22, 1944 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for over 60 years. He was a member of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club, the ATV Club and the Vintage Car Club. He was actively involved with the Community Christmas Dinner for many years and helped with the fish derby and demolition derby. Ron was a lifelong, well-known and well-respected logger. After retirement, Ron helped out with driving for Columbia Towing and Sure-Haul Transportation.


Ron was predeceased by his brother Lorne in 1985, father Bruce in 1998, mother Margaret in 2004, son Troy in 2001 and sister-in-law Marcella in 1998. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Revelstoke; daughter Sheryl of Revelstoke, grandson Myles of St. Albert, Alberta, brother Dave Taylor (Judy Walker) of Edmonton; sisters-in-law, Florence Devlin, Isabel Shiach, Susie Taylor, Vi Fowlie and Rose Fowlie; his faithful dog Bailey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
