February 20, 1948 - November 20, 2021
It is with our deepest regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother, Nana, and loving Wife Roseann Catherine Echlin (Collia).
Roseann was born in Revelstoke, British Columbia on February 20, 1948, where she was raised by her wonderful parents and was surrounded by many loving family members for much of her life.
She could often be found in the garden with her dad or learning traditional homemaking skills with her mother. You could also find her outside playing, ice skating, on the basketball court or riding her bike with her cousins and friends.
She moved to North Burnaby after graduation where she provided the most beautiful life for her children and devoted herself to a successful career. Roseann raised her family with strong values, traditions but most of all, her unconditional love.
She raised them in what will always be the most welcoming and loving home we have all come to know and covet over the past 40+ years. Roseann, Mom, Nana, Auntie, Friend, she made it a real home full of love and laughter where everyone was always welcome.
She passed away peacefully at Burnaby Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the age of 73 after a year long battle with illness. Roseann stayed incredibly strong, brave, and courageous during her battle and to quit was simply not even an option. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like because there was no giving up with Roseann. Her strength never wavered.
Family was everything to Roseann and friends quickly found themselves part of her large extended family. If you had the privilege to know Roseann, you knew that she was one of a kind.
Her presence will be greatly missed, her welcoming and generous nature, passion for all things Christmas, her unconditional love and support for her children, grandchildren and the undying love for her husband will never be forgotten.
Roseann will be remembered for always putting others before herself, her giving heart, her contagious laugh, infectious spirit, her unbelievable cooking, baking and the endless dinners her and Mike would host. Roseann filled every room with tons and tons of love, she was our light on a cloudy day.
Roseann was predeceased by her Father Joseph Francis Collia and Mother Margaret Helen Collia. Roseann is survived by her husband Michael Ian Davey, children, Roger (Andrea) Echlin, and Sherri (Doug) Gosselin, four grandchildren, Joseph and John Echlin and Brooke and Grace Gosselin and many other relatives and close friends.
She was an amazing example of a life well lived and she will be with us, in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
