Mrs. Ruth Elba Bennett passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the age of 73 years. There will be no formal funeral service by Ruth’s own request. Cremation with interment of the cremated remains to take place at a later date in the family plot in Kimberley.
Ruth was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on December 3, 1934 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1978. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed riding horses and doing ceramics. Prior to her move to Mt. Cartier Court, Ruth loved to go for long walks and also to ride her bike. Family was very important to Ruth and she loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruth was predeceased by her first husband Dale Zemp in August of 1977. She is survived by her loving husband Cecil of Revelstoke; four children: Cameron (Carol) Zemp of Whitecourt, Alberta, Kevin Zemp of Revelstoke, Sheldon (Arlene) Zemp of Whitecourt, Alberta and Sheri Zemp of Fort McMurray, Alberta; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of B.C., #600, 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1J9, in memory of Ruth.
