Sandra Joan(Sandy) Romano
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our daughter, sister, mother, grandmother aunt and friend Sandra Joan Romano (nee: Pelttari) on November 17, 2010 in Vancouver BC., at the age of 55 years.
Sandy was born on September 22, 1955 in the town of Golden, BC. She lived with her family in Donald, then Monte Creek prior to moving to Revelstoke in 1968 where she resided most of her younger life. After graduation in 1973 Sandy went to work for the Canadian Pacific Railroad in Revelstoke. She then took time to raise a family and later pursued a career in health care after moving to Vancouver where she resided until her passing. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers, knitting and crocheting as hobbies. Sandy loved long walks on the beach contemplating life’s issues and soaking up the sun.
Sandy was pre-deceased by her father Taisto in 2007. She will be missed deeply and well remembered by Alan, daughter, Allison (Warren), son, Matthew, grandson Maxwell, mother, Marlene. She is also survived by her siblings, Darlene, Kevin, Brenda and Valerie; Aunt Tannis and nieces and nephews (Dorothy, Jonathan, Jordy, Jessica, Waylon, Texas, Evan, Jillian and Noah).
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Revelstoke BC.
Arrangements were in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
