Sonia Florence DeGirolamo (nee Franson)
Sonia died peacefully on March 5, 2010 after an extended illness. Born on October 25, 1927. Sonia is survived by her husband George, son Mike (Margo), daughter Cheryl McPhail (Shane), grandchildren Chris, Donna, Tony, Jennifer and Christine; and great-grandchildren Nick, Matthew, Emile, Ethan and Brooklyn. Sonia was predeceased by her son Joseph, mother and father Gerda and Axel Franson, sister Elsie and brother Gilbert.
The family would like to thank Dr. MacIntyre, Dr. Lee and the nursing staff at KLH for their care and support. As an expression of sympathy family and friends may make donations to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation, 3 View Street, Nelson, B.C. V1L 2V1.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, 813 Ward Street, Nelson, BC with Father Jim Ratcliffe officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Nelson Memorial Park Cemetery.
