It is with great sadness that we wish to announce the tragic passing of Sonya Theresa Riome at her residence in Revelstoke on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at the age of 35 years. There will be no formal funeral service.
Sonya was born in Edmonton, Alberta on September 8, 1985 and had lived in Revelstoke for several years.
Sonya graduated from Revelstoke Senior Secondary School in 2003. She graduated from Okanagan College in 2006 as a Certified Dental Assistant and completed a course in 2020, along with her sister Anne, to become a certified Care Aid.
Sonya is survived by her father Russell (Kay) McKenzie of Revelstoke; mother Nicole Riome (Rick) of Cache Creek; grandfather Bud McKenzie (Bette) of Revelstoke; grandmother Anne McKenzie of Vernon; grandfather Doug Riome (Debra) of White Rock and grandmother Lynne Shelton (Don) of Oregon; brother Mitchell Thomas; sisters: Anne McKenzie, Julia McKenzie, Angela Duke and Kalei Duke; uncles: Jason Riome, Chris McKenzie, Phil McKenzie and Dan McKenzie; foster mother Lavone Calay, as well as many other relatives and good friends.
