A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Revelstoke Community Center on Wednesday, April 2nd, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2398, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Stella.

Stella was born in Thorhild, Alberta on October 13, 1935 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1964. Together with her husband Bert they had owned several local businesses, the last being Canyon Sales & Rentals, later known as Rough Country. Stella was an avid golfer and looked forward to spring when she could spend time on the course. She enjoyed travelling, driving, making wine and cooking. Stella enjoyed going to Curves and was a very dedicated member for the past four years. She was very lucky in games of chance and frequently won prizes in draws. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she doted over them. To them she was known as “darlin.”

Stella was predeceased by three sisters: Wanda, Jean and Leona. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bert of Revelstoke; son Greg (Barb) Byman of Revelstoke; grandchildren: Bryce (Jessica Craddock) and Kerstin, both of Revelstoke; six half sisters and two half brothers; three sisters-in-law: Mary Goodwin, Margaret Kennedy and Hilda Byman, all of Invermere; brother-in-law Bing Byman of Invermere as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
